Kevin was a real good guy, freak'n funny guy. I worked with him until he went from Long Island to the City to work. I have spoken to his wife a couple of times since that day and it is nice to know the neighbors, friends and family have rallied around her to help her and the kids out. No one can bring back Kevin but they will be alright.

There isn't a day I don't reflect on that terrible day, as I operate my business two blocks from where the WTC stood...

I knew a few people who were lost that terrible day...I let go of debts owed to me by businesses who lost everything and struggled to continue on.

Friends of mine in law enforcement aided in the rescue of people fleeing the tragic scene...one of the last two firefighters to leave WTC #1 after #2 collapsed (saving two citizens lost in the dark, even with his broken ribs, wrist and nose) is a dear friend from my neighborhood, whom I've often spoken with about 9-11 over dinner - that is, after he recovered from the traumatic experience and was ready to talk about it.

I have never been so affected by any incident in my life, but I wish I could say I was surprised.

Reflecting on the circumstances that led to 9-11, I am sickened at the condition of MY government, unfortunately it doesn't appear that much has changed...

Rather than a knee jerk, ad hominem reaction by the American sheeple, I was REALLY hoping for the citizens of the USA to make an introspective inventory of who we are, where we came from and where we are headed.

To say the least, that is FAR from what has happened, and I fear for our once great country more now than at any time in my life.

"This still gives me chills"

Try living through it...for almost a year I couldn't look at ANY photographic images from that hell-on-earth day, after the initial impact of what I saw on TV...

When the documentary aired that the two french brothers shot while following a rookie at NYFD Engine 7/Ladder 1, my wife sat and watched it in tears, but it was a healing experience and seemed to close the wound a bit.

Sometimes it still feels like a nightmare I haven't woke-up from yet.

I lived through it in the sense my brother was in the Pentagon that day...

He survived, but it wasn't until about 1:00 a.m. (EST) before anyone in the family heard from him / was able to get through to him.

Since this was sent to me by a Navy Commander, even though he is a relative, tells me that our service men have taken that "inventory" reading all the lead in quoates in the video.
