WASHINGTON - The California Republican Party is now fully behind the effort to recall Gov. Gray Davis, the state party chairman said Wednesday, and hopes to narrow the field of GOP candidates to boost the chances of capturing the governor's office.

Ping

Sundheim, who said it was too early to tell if the GOP would endorse a single candidate, performed a delicate dance in discussing the potential contenders Wednesday. He spoke highly of four of them: Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista, the only declared candidate so far; 2002 gubernatorial nominee Bill Simon; former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan; and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Sundheim said he and other party leaders will meet with those who are considering a run in an attempt to winnow the field.

Now you know why his name is 'Doof' .. ;-\

Hey, Duf,, Check out Do you think Tom McClintok Should Run for Governor of CA? .. OK?

CAGOP co-opts recall by embracing it with two RINOs and a pro-immigrant "conservative." They'll split their own vote five ways and kill the whole thing.

Eastern RINOs at their best.

first no way Bill Simon it will look like a rerun of 2002

Why to they keep pushing Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan...I can not stand that glad handing ahole he got all the greasy fake charm of every other lib

Rep. Darrell Issa, main problem in he is the one ther did the recall... so if he runs it look like the recall was just his plan to get himself elected governor

Arnold is the nuk ...if he runs Davis is DEAD however pulls left on issues (it never fails you marry left wing women they pull you left)

Tom McClintok is a good conservative Republican (loved his “cheap Scotsman” ads in the 20002 election)

But does he have the political clouted to push the other Republican aside and be “the Man” and then take Davis down

Davis and the dem are some vicious politic son ‘o bitches there going to for the jugular of whoever like a pit bull on crank ....think a pack of Carrvial's in full form 24/7

I pulled my left-wing, Boston-raised east-coast Liberal wife right. You should hear her rant sometimes reading a Reason or Liberty magazine article, it's like music to my ears! *grin*

LOL, now that it's a done deal, they are in support of it!

By not even considering the BEST candidate, Tom McClintock, the state GOP once again shows why it is so good at losing. They have an absolute tin ear when it comes to listening to the grassroots. But somehow I have come to believe it is not because they don't hear, but because they don't WANT to hear.

Maybe we should start a movement to have grassroots signature gatherers who earned money for recall signatures to donate that money to McClintock. Then he won't be dependent on the attention and money coming from these clueless "leaders."

Anyone who drives a vehicle in California should send a buck to Tom McCormick and John Campbell too. They are at the forefront fighting the VLF increase.

DRAFT Tom

Campbell for Senate
