Edwards does not show well and he's down in the polls. However, the reason he concerns me is that the Clintons back him. I assume that means he's easily controlled by them. Mysterious things happen when the clintons are involved in the political scene. I think Graham is more likely to be named as a VP because he's from FL and he's therefore needed to win that state. I'm not sure what the deal here is with Edwards, but I don't like it.

Maybe the Clintons are pushing him and he has agreed in exchange to put Hillary on as VP, a stupid move because his, umm, health, would not last long. This guy needs to be soundly defeated. He's too close to the Clintons.

Erskine Bowles is a Clinton ambassador. There's no question but that he met with Edwards for and on behalf of the Clintons. And someone earlier alluded to the reason: Edwards will be the running mate for the Hildabeast in 2004, since, make no mistake about it, the Beast will be the Dem candidate in 2004. She doesn't need Graham because she believes she can take Florida without him. But she does need the Piedmont, and N. Carolina -- which is becoming more and more influential -- is smack dab in the middle of the Piedmont. With the two coasts and Florida, she has the requisite electoral votes.
