That is a much-circulated photo taken during his 5 months when he had a government-assigned-man-to-protect-him-because-he-was-a-Senator's-son, FAR behind the scenes from any action in Vietnam.

This is one of several versions of it on Google under "Al Gore in Vietnam."

I couldna swear to its authenticity, ya unnerstan, lassie - but have never seen him refute it as authentic !!

You must not have been on FR when he was the Veep - - he was such good material for laughter!
