The life of the officers and the lives of the innocent that could be affected...how much time might be needed to save the life of an LEO before this guy gives up?

In some cases, weeks or months.

Police departments quickly run out of budget for overtime. To protect the innocent, you're going to have to evacuate the neighborhood for the duration of the standoff. That means even more money spent on housing the neighbors. So now my taxes--which are too damn high already--are going to have to go up.

Me? Well I am in whatever it takes mode to save a human life. There's no need to rush to kill nor rush to be killed. Wait it out for as long as it takes. It's a no brainer to me. But oh the manpower hours and the money? Well now we're right back to the price of human life aren't we? What's it worth in manpower hours?

Excuse me, but that's MY money you're talking about spending so freely. Also, you're denying the rights of every other person in the neighborhood to the quiet enjoyment of their property, solely to cater to the whims of felons.

Congratulations, you've just argued for (a) unlimited taxation and (b) revocation of property rights, all in the name of protecting the criminals. In other words, you're a liberal Democrat.

Wait till the govt. gets the bill for the house, not to mention the benefits paid to the deceased officers family...all over a "solicitation" charge that seems to have been forgotten....

oh yes since when does allegedly soliciting (propositioning)for sex make one a predator? People can't even ask anymore?

I find the charge inconcistent with his background, and IMO suspect. Why no more info on the original charge? Why aren't the news media asking about it? What are the details?....lets see the affidavit for arrest warrant and the warrant..redacted of course..

The authorities know this guy, know he is stubborn, militia member, why go to his house and arrest him when they could have called him to the station or waited for him to go to work or his business or get into a vehicle away from his home. his fortress... Didn't anyone learn anything from Waco other than how to burn down houses?

Excuse me, but that's MY money

And now we know the value you put on the lives of the officers and other innocents involved. None zero nada zip!

psst once the govt has the money, it is no longer YOUR money. If it were then still YOUR money why you could just go get it back because you don't like the way it is being spent protecting LEOs and all this overtime pay.

If believing in the sanctity of human life makes me a liberal democrat, then count me in with them on this one. Because I do value human life. Are you suggesting conservatives don't value human life (especially LEOs) as much as liberal democrats? True conservatives might disagree with you on this one. I know I do.
