Iranian Alert -- DAY 30 -- LIVE THREAD PING LIST [Riots erupt]

Today is July 9th. The day Iranians have been waiting for. The next 24-72 hours may be the most important in Iran's history.
It is noon there, at the time of this post, and already we are hearing of people in the streets. The regime's security forces are out in force. This is very encouraging as most of the demonstrations thus far have been at night to take advantage of the cover of dark.
We have heard of riots in the Pars region of the city of Tehran. We have yet to hear of strikes. We are receiving phone calls from Iran but they are few. The regime is cutting off the calls to the United States as soon as they find them.
We are continuing to hear of the regimes jamming of the broadcasts in much of Iran and Europe. But apparently the signals do get through from time to time.
The people of Iran have chosen July 4th because four years ago, the regime brutally attacked peaceful student demonstrators while in their dorms. The result was the loss of life and liberty of hundreds of students, many of which are still unaccounted for.
Iran is a country ready for a regime change. If you follow this thread you will witness, I believe, the transformation of a country. This daily thread provides a central place where those interested in the events in Iran can find the best news and commentary.
Please continue to post your news stories and comments to this thread.
Thanks for all the help.

I think part of the reason they can't cover this story is because the Iranian regime will not let them near the protests.

Thanks for your pure feelings and thoughts.
I have a latest update now, I can confirm sporadic clashes in City center right in front of the University Of Tehran.
I saw them myself, There is a road which just takes 10-15 minutes to get to the other crossroad, but for me and my friend in a car, it took 55 minutes to get to the other crossroad.
Police blocked the paths and roads heavily.
Special units of police investigated the bags and loads of people, mostly young people who look like students.
I saw 2 buses full of forces enroute to the clash site.
I do not know how many people were arrested or how the clashes happened there.
I am in west of Tehran right now, It is 9.35 PM
Guess that I'm 5 miles far from the University of Tehran. I will be back in a few minutes to see what is going on there.

How many people are in the streets or on strike? Is it a lot of people or just a few? What do most of the non-students say right now?

There were not thousands of people, I can say there were hundreds of people gathered.
Students are representating other levels of society too.
95% dont want a religious form of government.
I have to say that, elderly people are completely against this regime because they once experienced a better one before.
I am sure that many people here have a same voice and will to be free.
We really hate a religious government.
Regarding the clashes, I can not say any thing right now because where I am is a small cyber cafe in the North West of Tehran. I am gonna head to the site once again. It is 9.45 Pm here
To: Khashayar
Are there any leaders or organizers to the protests? (You don't have to give names.) Do you think many people would be willing to not go to work in order to have a major strike?

>>>> Thanks for your pure feelings and thoughts.
You're more than welcome, but we're the ones who should thank you. You're keeping us up to date, encouraging your comrades, and risking your neck for change.
I sure hope you get some help from America. I'm done encouraging you to take one course or the other, at least for now. It's your blood on the line, so I'll leave you to decide if the time is right for more aggressive action. Maybe the military will see things your way.
The bottom line: Iranian youth have proved yet again that our differences with the mideast are not racial. Persia and the west have much in common, and everyone who learns about freedom prefers it over slavery and oppression of conscience.
May this day bring you closer to your dreams, and may you, your comrades, and your family stay safe and sound.

Freedom Bump to all those brave souls taking it to the streets. Shame on the media for ignoring this important story. Instead, it's all Peterson all the time.

Keep contacting the media...
When they get tons of people contacting them they do respond.
Can someone post a good media list?
