Micky Fitzgerald was the relieving supervisor at Lockheed Martin, and the supervisor being relieved was Doug Williams's supervisor. Doug Williams had been counselled that day and had left the meeting.
Micky Fitzgerald saw Mr. Williams returning from his vehicle with two guns and went out to meet him. Micky threw his hand up and told Doug "to wait a minute. Let's rethink this. We don't want to do this."
Doug Williams took one step back, lowered his shotgun and pulled the trigger.
