It said that it had received a statement from the company saying that "due to the current economic climate, the timetable has slowed down for the development of a new network dedicated to programming to the gay and lesbian audience.

Someone is not telling the "truth".

Are they saying that the homosexual community doesn't have the money to make this profitable (or is the above figure a lie)?

Would a homosexual have to really be a "gay males" channel because lebians would not be interested in the same programming (and there are already a number of networks that cater exclusively to a feminine audience)?

Is it because Bravo is increasing the amount of homosexual oriented programming (including reality dating shows) and posed competition?

Maybe Viacom's Spike TV (with its gay Ren and Stimpy) is the only "channel for men" that Viacom really needs.

From what I see while channel-surfing, homosexual-themed programming is cropping up all over.
