SACRAMENTO - Buried under a pile of papers on state Sen. Bruce McPherson's desk on the fourth floor of the Capitol is a handwritten note from a Democratic colleague: ``More than any other single person here now, you are in a position to force a break in this dire logjam.''

"THE DEMWITS CAN PASS A BUDGET ANYTIME THEY WANT BUT WITHOUT ANY NEW FEES OR TAX INCREASES!!!!" Of course they can. And Tom McClintok wrote an article the first of the year explaining how the budget could be balanced within two years by cutting spending off the top by ten percent. So all this hand wringing by the lefties is pure BS.

In Santa Cruz? Get real. Most of the voters here would replace McPherson with the likes of John Laird.

The day one which any GOP state assembly members or state senators vote to for an increase in taxes, particularly in light of the overtaxation in this state, is the day on which I seek any legal means of removing those persons from office and from the GOP forever.

Gone. Persona non grata. Excommunicated with Twenty-Pieces-Of-Silver Oak Leaf Cluster. Look up "Paul Horcher" on Google.

Why can't we do just that on all these Demonicrats? They shouldn't be allowed anymore wiggle room than limp wristed Repellicans, should they?

If you mean, Why not recall liberal Democrats as well as traitorous GOP representatives, well: Fine, but my focus was on betrayal of stated principles. Democrats ran and won in their incumbent-gerrymandered CA districts on a No Tax Too High, No Program Too Big platform. So at least they aren't betraying those principles.

Note to CA Republicans: You're only considered a "moderate" when they want something from you; otherwise, they think you're "rightwingers" who are starving babies and old people, and racist to boot.

Unless you were being tongue-in-cheek, can you explain why you say Briggs was misunderstood? The only stories I ever heard reported that he'd voted for a bunch of Democrat initiatives, then, after leaving office shortly thereafter, suddenly was getting $,$$$ as a "consultant" on issues that weren't even confronting the Dem. politico who was paying Briggs.

I wonder if it has occured to Gray Davis to take in four wino's off the street. He would have to determine that none of them have ever been convicted of a felony and that all have resided in California for enough time to be candidates for governor in the recall.

Perhaps he had them legally change their names to
Arnold Swartzenegger,
Arnold Swarzenegger,
Arnold Schwartzenegger,
and Arnold Scwarzenegger.

Then when Arnold Schwarzenegger runs for the same office the odds are 4 out of five that a homeless wino will replace Davis.

Ah. So you agree that such, still, would nevertheless be a substantial improvement over the status quo :)
