The Israel Defense Forces detonated a road side explosive device in the Gush Katif section of Gaza this afternoon, a military source told The Jerusalem Post.
"Jewish civilians discovered a bomb placed on one the roads in Gush Katif and immediately notified the IDF Border Police whose sappers detonated the bomb in a controlled explosion," the source said.
Earlier today in Kalkiyla in the West Bank, an IDF Border Police patrol came under automatic weapons fire.
"The terrorists shot at our patrol from a civilian building, continuing to use both Palestinian civilian structures, holy sites and innocent Palestinians as physical and human shields. Our force did not return fire as we did not want to harm innocent civilians in the building from which the attack took place," the source said.

I just searched for the article "White House Urges Israeli Restraint" but I guess with GWB in Africa, the State Department is "slacking" today. ;/
