It's bad - real bad - but the political indoctrination of our youth is not guaranteed to stick. Many here on FR admit to holding "liberal" viewpoints as youths. Who can deny the idealism of our young?

So true.

We were idealistic, but just as importantly, we got that way by being naturally skeptical of the status quo. Today's status quo is the abject leftism on the part of the high school establishment, am I wrong to say that there seems to be a large number of kids coming out of these schools having rebelled toward the right, toward conservatism?

As a parent of two SamoHi graduates, I applaud Steve Miller. Fortunately, my kids left high school before it became an indoctrination camp. Even so, one turned into a Goron, though the other, thank God, is right as rain. She was, however, the wild child in her youth...wonders never cease! Moral of the story, if any, is that you never really know how they'll turn out. Best policy is to discuss issues with them during their difficult school years.
