An Australian and two Americans were gored by bulls during the second day of the running of the bulls in Pamplona.
Australian Nick Headlam was injured as he was rammed into a fence by a 1,300lb bull.
But in true Aussie style, the 29-year-old laughed and saluted to the crowd as he was stretchered away along the cobbled streets, covered in blood and with a drip attacked to his arm.
One of the gored Americans, veteran Pamplona runner Al Chesson, 57, spent a terrifying half-minute being thrown around and jabbed by a snorting bull in the narrow alley leading into the bull ring that marks the end of the run.
The gorings happened as six fighting bulls, running with six steers, strayed from the pack early in the 900-yard run.
'Don't worry Bruce, I'll see you at the bar'
That is about the worst thing can happen at the San Fermin festival.
Hundreds of runners taunted the bulls as they made their way to the ring.
The bulls frequently turned and charged at the crowds, sending people running for refuge.
The bulls came from the Cebada Gago ranch, known for breeding ornery animals that like to break away from the pack.
In the past 10 years, they have gored 22 people at San Fermin. Tuesday's run made Monday's event look like a jog in the park.
Thirteen people have died since the event began in 1924.
