Here you are disadvantaged with few shopping choices, but the grocery stores are competitive - and Wal-Mart is less expensive than even they are. The delight is you don't have to go more than two miles to get to several places to pay the power bill, city water, etc. bill, cable tv bill, etc.
The County Courthouse with its famous sundial is beautiful, beside a Circle in the middle of the town - everything is always clean and landscaped nicely - all the buildings neatly painted.
The lovely thing is knowing my grandparents were here in the latter 1920's when he pastored a church right off the Circle. I can literally feel their prayers for their children and grandchildren surrounding me at times!
There is no movie theater, but the churches go all out to keep the children occupied and have special events. Mine sponsors 'Fifth Night' during football season and draws 400 + teens from the area for pizza, Christian talks and music and celebrating there, rather than trashing the town.
For shopping needs not filled here, Aiken is 32 miles - Augusta, GA 45 miles - Columbia 65 miles - excuse to take a little trip and eat out!
Idyllic, when you want to gear down in life and just enjoy it without all the old hassles.
Less driving around translates to more Freeping Time at The Finest !!
