"LIGHTHOUSE, n. A tall building on the seashore in which the government maintains a lamp and the friend of a politician." - Ambrose Bierce
Well its too late to take your name off it, and I noticed that you've further "scribbled" on it. Thanks.
I just responded to a post that sounded like it came from a partisan hack.
You responded to the original post, you know the one that has a picture of a cake and says Happy Birthday. Is that too partisan for you?
Thanks anyway.
???
I'm pretty sure July 1854 was 150 years ago.
Good question. I'd like to think we're celebrating the Republican party that was formed in opposition to the Democrats, and all they stood for in 1854, and is still going strong in that same role 150 years later! The issues have changed since then, but the role the GOP plays hasn't.
That's the reason they have secret ballots. But I'll give you a hint, I never vote for anyone who advocates or goes along with big government socialistic or fascist policies. You can figure it out from there if you really want to know.
In the mean time, I'm guessing you vote for people who you percieve will steal your freedoms at a slower pace.
My idea is different from yours. I seek freedom and the return to constitutional government.
You sound like a person who likes bandwagons. Jump aboard and be with a winner!
The rest of us however, are losers when it comes to freedom because people like you want to vote for "winners".
Maybe you should move to Chicago so you can vote for sure winners everytime. Of course you would be voting for Democrats because they NEVER lose.
How would that make you feel?

Huh? Were you asleep through the 2000 election? I don't criticize folks for voting third party, but please don't patronize me with this nonsense.

LOL! No matter where YOU choose to live in this great country friend, I'm sure the result is going to be the same for the political candidate(s) you vote for. For some folks that realization might bring with it a dose of reality, but in your case, I guess not.
Better luck next time ok?
Good thread, mac. But GEEZ! You sure know how to bring all the crabs out of their shells, don't you.
BUMP. Worth repeating.
You've got that right. Big government then, big government now with a few years of smaller government between the two eras
Why don't you ask that one to your buddy Walt. From what I hear his party of choice has quite a lineup going. Just look at the choices he has to pick from for the primary: Dean, Kucinich, Mosely Braun, Edwards, Sharpton, LaRouche.
I could easily see him supporting any one of those left wing freaks of nature. Heck, based on your Clintonesque arguments against impeachment in the last week and your willingness to excuse away the marxist affiliations of liberal academia, I could easily see YOU voting for any one of those left wing freaks of nature.
2003 - 1854 = 149
