Hello!!!

Can someone please explain to me what's going on at FR tonight?

I logged in per usual, and was presented with a new User Agreement to ratify. Which I did without hesitation.

Then I found that I couldn't use my screen name anymore, because it's "already been taken" -- that is, betty boop, which I've used exclusively, consistently since March 1998. I had to provide a new screen name, just to get this far and talk to you: "metaxy."

I am really upset about this. Can anyone explain to me what purpose this serves? I have some unanswered FReeper correspondence in private mail that I can't get to anymore, that I'd hoped to reply to this evening.

Not to mention that there was a thriving thread on the subject of Judicial Activism, and I owed about a half-dozen replies there.

Even worse, I would hate to think that I could not contact you guys in the future, if FR has "gone Hollywood" on us....

Would you kindly share your private e-mail addie with me? Mine is: jdrew10535@aol.com.

God bless you all --

Jean

There is no new user agreement. I don't know of what problems you are having- have you tried logging back in as betty boop?

I didn't have any problems logging in and was able to call up your profile page (betty boop) without any problem. It sounds like some kind of software anamoly.
