I know that you've seen the following epistemological thought before, but I'm presenting it again for others to ponder.
(Note: that in bold below is an adaptation of words and thoughts found on page 136 of "Objectivism: the Philosophy of Ayn Rand," by Leonard Piekoff.)
... The Genesis concept of God has no basis in perception, reason, or reality; it is without heirarchical roots, there are no earlier -- realistic -- concepts on which it logically depends; and accepting such a concept is the intellectual equivalent of standing on the fortieth floor of a skyscraper while dynamiting the first thirty-nine.
On the analogy of your statement, a severe skeptic will debunk axiomatic elements in mathematics for 39th floor dynamite.
Hardly true, for those with whom God has communicated.
...it is without heirarchical roots, there are no earlier -- realistic -- concepts on which it logically depends...
Thanks for the humor. As the bookend to cornelis' comments, if there were an earlier depend for God, I would be a mite worried.
What does the word "inspirational" mean to you?
