I'm not interested in giving advice to those who refuse to learn anything

Please don't be too hard on unspun, I will be forever indebted to him for inspiring what I think is a valid proof for the non-existence of God.

Well, thanks for the ping. Is this your point: somehow you believe this...

Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [1] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

...is proof of the non-existence of God? I.e., where God, as any creator turned his thoughts and intentions into an expression (in this case, of Word and Breath and into what we see as real) --except that God didn't need what we would call raw materials, because He created them.

You can call that reification until you're blue, but God calls it preparing your abode because of His love for you.

Yes, if reality is everything that exists, and God exists, then God is part of reality. If God created reality, since God is part of reality, God must have created Himself. If God created reality but is not part of reality, He cannot be something that exists, since reality includes everything that does exist.

The theist's solution is to redefine reality as everything that exists, except God. It does not occur to them if God exists outside reality, it makes God both "unreal," and "non-existent". If only they would come right out and say so.

Of course, all this depends on words having meanings that don't conveniently change to fit one's argument, something that does not seem to bother theists or mystics of any stripe.

Hank
