Re "Forests: Fires and logging," Your views, June 19: The letter by Nancy Ingalsbee, of the "Klamath Alliance for Resources and Environment," states, "Responsible timber harvesting is necessary to maintain forest health." While no one honestly expects an industry representative to present an unbiased opinion, this statement is remarkably similar to the stated policies of the Bush administration. Gee, I wonder how the forests survived for so long before we started to "responsibly harvest" them?

Gee, ever hear of "Forest Fires" ??? The yahoo who wrote the letter obviously didn't. . .

But then, his address is listed as "Davis", as in UC-Davis, where rational thought is against policy. . .
