Did Anyone Forget? (not likely)

Have You Forgotten? (Darryl Worley, Wynn Varble) The USO tour in Afghanistan over the [2002] Christmas holidays gave me an opportunity to spend some quality time with the people who defend the freedoms of this country, and I was just overwhelmed by that experience. I wanted to find some way to honor these men and women. When I sat down to write with Wynn after I got home, I was telling him about my experiences. I felt like some people tended to forget the terror and the horror we felt on 9-11. The first thing I thought of was, “Those soldiers damn sure haven’t forgotten what they’re over there for.” And that’s how the song came about.

TOPICS: War on Terror

On this day of celebration of Independence, President Bush reminded us that we're still at war, and why. I think this song and pictures is excellent.

I re-listened to the song, and re-watched the video, and it brought tears to my eyes, for the ones lost in the attack, and the ones lost afterwards, who are putting their lives on the line to protect us.

If you go to the source URL http://darrylworley.dreamworksnashville.com/ you can choose the appropriate format for your system under 'media' to use, or the appropriate format to just listen to the song.

I have not forgotten.
And Toby Keith's "Angry American" reminds me everyday, on my radio, or on my CD of what I want done about it.
And if I can ever manage to listen to the song "One Last Time", without tearing up, and having my throat constrict,I would manage to find out who sings it,and I'd get that CD, too.
Not that I need the music to remind me of the why,I need it to remind myself that I am far from being the only one who continues to be enraged, and not even close to feeling justice has been served, yet.
Darryl Whorley's song is beautifull, and I never change the station when I hear it, but reminding me that some of my fellow citizens are willing/capable of forgetting, turns me from a live and let live kind of person, into a very angry American.

Darryl Worley was playing at Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland tonight. Unfortunately, by the time I found out about it, getting tickets were not in our budget, if any were even available.

I gotta love my local radio station - I can't tell you how many times I heard that song today - along with nearly every other patriotic country music song I have ever heard, and a whole bunch I had not heard before today.

Happy Birthday America.

God Bless the U S A.

I listened to it several times today. My wife caught me 'teary eyed' and called me a 'sentimental fool'.

I called her something else (lol).

We are getting along, and she says she is 'proud to be an American citizen', so I'm not complaining.

LOL...........

Both my husband and I were teary eyed and had to explain why to our 5 year old earlier today.

She prefers "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue" or her own rendition of God Bless America.

I'm a news freak and so she heard God Bless America on a right regular basis after September 11, 2001, when she was only 3 - she's been singing it ever since.

I know the song you are referring to, but it must have a different title than "One more time" No useful hits anywhere.
