I wasn't aware of the rumors about Kasich until he got out of Dodge. I haven't felt any need to delve into them since then, because he's off the map. I liked his fiscal policy.
As for protectionism, I'm middle of the road. I think the Free Trade absolutists are as fetishistic to one extreme as the Fortress America types are on the other.
