To: I got the rope
The Senator "historian" who released the transcripts made no mention of anything but a few celebrities who were called. And he moaned about how injust that was. Fact is Aaron Copeland was a member of one communist front after the next. The DOJ almost indicted him for perjury but his fame allowed him to escape.

I wish McCarthy had put all the Korea War vets who testified in a room with the people who took the fifth, locked the door and came back a few hours later.

Didn't I read that Aaron Copeland was allowed to change his statement and so avoided prosecution? I was way too young to "understand" the ongoing communist organizations in America during Korea.I always thought McCarthy was right though unattractive in his TV appearance.I grew up in a Dem family and always voted for Republicans for national security's sake.Luckily my mate and I agreed and now my children do,too.
