Did Rhenquist retire or resign? Did I miss something?

I will say this, I do not support O'Connors ruling in this and a few other cases, but I do support her in many others. And if Rhenquist retires before O'Connor and if Bush is President and if he appoints O'Connor to be Chief Justice and if she is confirmed, it would in NO way change my support for President Bush. Any more than it has changed my opinion for Ronald Reagan who is responsible for her being on the court to begin with. I love, admire, respect, and support Reagan now as much as I ever did. And I do Bush as well.
