The pancake breakfast at Veterans Memorial Park, sponsored by our local Fraternal Order of Police, was great. There was plenty to eat and drink, and the festivities are really starting to get underway. The canoneers of B Troop, 4th Cavalry were showing how civil war guns were fired, the troopers were giving kids rides on magnificent cavalry mounts decked out in 1880's style gear, the Rickety Rockettes were dancing, and our local troops had a display of military gear including a Hunter UAV complete with launch rail and Ground Control Station.
It's about time to head over to friends for our annual barbecue...Mrs. HJ just finished making potato salad and I'm getting ready to make our hot sausage cheese dip.
Hope everyone is having a great day...hope everyone remembers why we celebrate today!
To all our troops who lurk, especially our guys and gals overseas...I can't begin to thank you enough for picking up the torch and carrying it proudly. You really are the creme de la creme, the top 10% of America. Thank you!
