"The hearing on AB-50 that was scheduled for July 1st in the CA Senate Public Safety Committee was postponed at the “Request of the author”. Assemblyman Koretz (D-Hollywood) removed his bill from the agenda just as the committee convened at 10:40 AM on Tuesday. The hearing has been rescheduled for Tuesday July 8th at 0830 AM in the same committee. FCSPI will be there.

You will note that very few personal letters of opposition have come in on this bill to the Senate Public Safety Committee. This is one of the biggest gauges they use to judge how their constituents feel on a particular bill. We still have a week left and need all the help and support we can get. Looks to me like the numbers are not changing any at all
Also I noticed that there is no total for the number of votes such as are usually shown on polls of this kind

If a teacher can not be trusted with a firearm why on earth would a parent trust them with their children?

It is legal in my state for teachers to carry.

I imagine there are one or two ccw's at each school.

Arming teachers--arming pilots, arming citizens, etc.--will effect the sentiment of George Washington that the presence of firearms everywhere will stifle the urge towards lawlessness.

Look at the scientific research of Dr. John Lott (More Guns, Less Crime, etc.) and see the reality vs. your rigged myth.

I had a teacher who’d throw chalkboard erasers at kids. I can just imagine that guy packing heat. It would be a .44 Mag. for sure.

Seriously though, I’d say yes under certain circumstances. I wouldn’t want my kids going to a school where teachers were compelled to pack heat to begin with. But, such schools are out there and if you want teacher to teach there, you should allow them to defend themselves.
