[history]
Any Arizona school that expelled four students within two years because they brought guns on campus could be labeled "persistently dangerous," the Arizona State Board of Education decided Monday.
But the frightening label, created by a new federal law, is unlikely to be used in Arizona.

I can't be reading this right - if you expel dangerous kids they aren't in the environment right? But if you don't expel them, then they remain.
so... this looks like an incentive NOT to expel the dangerous kids, and remain at risk, rather than be rid of them and be safer for their absence.
huh?????

I went to Arcadia high school in Phoenix, and we had a skeet shooting club. I used to being my shotgun to school all the time. Doh.

When I was in school, if a person brought a gun or large knife to school(we all had small pocket knives)it meant they were in leathecraft class.

A different world! When I was in school, guns were sometimes brought to school as "show and tell" items! Of particular interest were Japanese Nambus and German Lugars brought to school by kids whose Fathers had brought them back as "war trophies". Hell, one kid even brought a German Schmeisser which his Father had brought back...
The thought of "shooting up the school" never crossed anyone's mind!

Well, now, isn't this interesting?
In 2001 and 2002, the NRA Foundation State Fund Committee gave the Wickenburg Sportsmen's Club over $10,000 to provide .22 caliber rifles and refurbish the range for the Wickenburg High School Rifle Team!
Now, there's a school district I wouldn't mind sending my sons to!
