The host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics will be named in Prague, Czech Republic Wednesday when the International Olympic Committee convenes its 115th session.
IOC President Jacques Rogge will announce whether PyeongChang, South Korea , Salzburg Austria or Vancouver, Canada wins the bid.
But the Canadian city's candidacy may have recieved a boost Tuesday, when the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation expressed his support for Vancouver.
On the Federations official website, Rene Fasel of Switzerland said 'an Olympic Hockey tournament in Canada would be something very special.'
He also said that 'any hockey person hopes for Vancouver because it is a hockey city in a hockey country.'
Ice Hockey has been an integral part of the Olympic Games since 1920, when it was introduced as part of the seventh Olympiad in Antwerp, Belgium.

I hope they don't choose Salzburg. That would trash that old town...

I'm pulling for Vancouver, too. They're now in the final round of voting. It should be in in a couple minutes.

I'm sooooo glad Houston's out of the running for the Summer Olympics. They're a huge waste of city resources and funds, and traffic is already absymal here. If we'd gotten the Olympics, I'd have had to telecommute.

The traffic would have been astonishing! It already takes me 45 minutes to get downtown..

Downtown? You'd be telecommuting too. It'd take you three hours if we'd gotten the fund-sucker.

I hope Vancouver gets the nod, which will greatly lessen the probability the Big Apple will host the 2012 Summer Extortion.
