So why use a condom at all then? My point is, if guys were truly scared about becoming fathers, they'd make sure there was no chance in hell it would happen until they're ready. The same thing with women.
Now, on the other hand, there are some horrible women out there who do trap guys, and lie about birth control etc. Unfortunately, those women give the rest of us a bad name- hence why this article talks about single men and their fear of being 'trapped'.

Good question. From a personal point of view, 90-97% is offers some protection, particularly over the short term.
However, from the point of view of the community, 97% effectiveness leads to a great many 'surprises'.

Good point. However, as far as I know, the only way to ensure this is abstinence.
A couple of years ago, some friends were surprised with a pregnancy. Why the surprise? Well, after 3 kids he'd had a vasectomy five years previously. He said he was told the chances of this happening after so long were 1:20,000. He should have bought lottery tickets that day.
