I had been looking for weeks for a picture of Bush in his flight suit and finally found one. I thought everyone else would like it as well. Enjoy!

Of course, it is interesting our Commander in Chief and Secretary of Defense are both fighter pilots. What the hell was Al-Qa'ida thinking?

Maybe they were thinking that the dims and eurotrash were still in charge? Or that they could prevent W from doing what he has done.

Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make HISTORY.

Tell that to Chuck Yeager, Eddie Rickenbacker, Robin Olds, Bob Hoover, "Pappy" Boyington, "Butch" O'Hare, and their likes. Other fighter pilots include John Glenn, James Lovell, GHW Bush, and (of course) W. :)

Tell that to the aircrews lost over Berlin and Tokyo. Fighter pilots suffered only a FRACTION of the losses of the aircrews and served in SUPPORT roles to the bomber crews ;)

I notice you are somewhat of a newbie, having arrived after 5/1. You are hilarious on this thread. If you haven't already seen the 5/1/2003 thread "A Day in the Life of President Bush" (day he landed on the Abraham Lincoln) be sure and catch it. Howlin has it linked directly above. Check her post. You'll enjoy it.

Welcome to FR!

Thank you! This place was recommended to me after I bought my first computer a few months ago after retiring from the Navy. (I wore the flight suit myself for 22 years, you know. Never got the same reaction from the ladies, though.) Free Republic is great for discussions and for learning HTML really fast by nessesity. Thank you for the heads up, I'll check out that link.

Because he's a "real" man. See #19 for comparison.

Charlie Rose once asked if Newt's weight signified that he was undisciplined. He would never had intimated that about Clinton.

It has always been beyond me, must have been the media saying how "charming" he was all the time plus the power.

What was it Teddy K. took? Was it amyl nitrate? I believe it is very dangerous. BTW, what about JFK Jr. Her cocanine habit was known, but did he also have a drug problem?

"Heh, heh. He is a good candidate for Kramers "Bro", the male bra!"

...remember how George's dad wanted to call it the "Man-ssiere"? That was soooo funny. I miss that show!

You got that right. I always get a kick out of Chris Matthews when he has Senator John McCain on his show. He always introduces him as a "Fighter" pilot. This is the same Chris Matthews who would have nothing but barely withheld contempt for those who do not know the difference between an alderman, city councilman or state representative and their duties, but calls anyone in the US Navy who got 25 feet up in the air a "Fighter" pilot.

McCain, as a Naval aviator was designated a light attack pilot in the 1960s era Naval aviation community. With the eventual retirement of the F-14s the Navy have all 'strike-fighter' squadrons blending the "Fighter" and "Attack" communities for good.

In the 1960s however, the best pilot were in Fighters, and the next best were in the Attack community. Yes, yes, depending on the needs of the Navy whole classes of new Naval aviators could get drafted into an Attack career path, but usually the top of the class was offered Fighters. Everyone knew their place in the pecking order.

McCain has everyone's respect for his time as a POW in North Vietnam, but he was never a top notch fighter pilot, something Chris Matthews would never understand. Actually he was a "black ace" (and no I don't mean a member of VF-41) as he and five aircraft parted ways during his career...
