To: Tax-chick
We're talking about college graduates interning in a Republican White House in Washington, DC. I think that if that's viewed as unsafe environment -- even for males -- that's not adequately preparing them for the world.

To answer your question, there's absolutely nothing wrong with chastity. But it's a stretch to think that one can't practice that lifestyle as an intern in the Bush White House, IMHO.

I never said the young lady was lost! Just that as a mother, I wouldn't be totally comfortable with my daughter's being in that situation. Not because there's anything wrong with the Bush White House in particular, but simply because occasions of sin abound for single young people away from home or an in loco parentis college like Patrick Henry.

So I wouldn't call it an "unsafe environment," but rather "exposure to temptation." It's not so much the work situation, but the after-work environment.
