In the book "The Kennedy Curse - Why Tragedy Has Haunted America's First Family for 150 Years" family biographer Edward Klein writes that Carolyn was a highly dysfunctional cokehead and the marriage was headed for the rocks.

The Kennedy's were trying to fly this story right after the crash. Anything to cover up another couple of young women killed by the Kennedy clan and to head off any lawsuits arising from the Kennedy's.
I believe when I see some toxicology and/or some rehab confirmations.

Have problems with the source of this gossip. Remember reading early on that Bessette was approved of by Jackie Kennedy more than Daryl Hannah. Jackie wouldn't approve of a cokehead for her future daughter-in-law. And I'm not a fan of the Kennedys.

Jackie died in May? of 1994; JFKJr was married in summer 1996. I didn't realize that they had dated that long before marriage - long enough for Jackie O to have formed an opinion.

Hannah and Kennedy relationship dissolved before his mother's death, which Jackie never approved of anyway. An attractive man in New York wouldn't be unattached for long.
