Great post and thread BTW. It looks like you put a lot of thought into it.
Too bad all the good threads get posted and run their course so early in the day when I'm normally not around.

Thanks for the updated list, justshe!
I've printed it out and I'm keeping a copy in my wallet. ;-)

Are we on the right track, or not? Is there more good than bad, or vice versa? And, if we're on the wrong track, what is a viable alternative? The problem is, too many Bush supporters frame this as an all or nothing debate. Bush has done a lot of good things. But there is a fundamental problem now with the GOP - having told us for years that things would get better if they were just in charge, they instead are making certain matters far worse (child tax credit, Medicare) and are caving to the Dems in key areas. So that is what we need to work on - that the GOP needs to start acting like the majority party - and IMO the GOP will NOT take conservatives seriously as long as we publicly say we'll vote for them no matter what crap they pull on us. If you want an example of the pitfalls of unquestioning loyalty to a party, just look at the experience of blacks within the Dem party.

Great idea, Scenic Sounds. (Although it's a little chunky for my wallet).
This would be great material for workers at Bush/Cheney '04 campaign headquarters. President Bush's skill at multitasking is evident in the diversity of this extensive list. His accomplishments are indicative of his focus on the job to which we elected him.
Thanks again, justshe.

That's the problem I have with most Bush bashers. They can't think of anyone else who could step up to the plate and do the job! Bush is an imperfect man but he's the best man for this job and at this juncture in American history, IMHO. I would not want to face what he does every day.

C'mon, Joe, tell me who our best bet is for a conservative president? Inquiring minds need to know.

Buchanan. He is a real conservative, that would put America and American's first, all the time, not to mention securing our borders and sovereignty. Of course he was too extreme, too "American first" for the liberal Republicans.....

I liked Buchanan. Always have. But I don't think the rest of America was too crazy about him. M

Why don't you at least
try to pay attention.
With a 51-49 majority in the Senate THERE IS NO GOP MAJORITY!!
After he lost the Majority Leader job, Daschle declared that every bill and every appointment would require 60 votes to pass. In other words, the Democrats will filibuster everything sent up from the House and everything Bush attempts to do. If you guys who are constantly calling for conservative purity would take into account the current political reality in Washington, you would seem smarter.

As far as I know, everyone has called for a Palestinian state, including GW and Sharon. The differences are the conditions which include location and a total end to violence.

Dick Armey used to encourage people to contact his office for a list of the 187 departments, offices and government jobs that the GOP had zeroed out or ended completely. I don't know where that list would be today.

With a 51-49 majority in the Senate THERE IS NO GOP MAJORITY!! After he lost the Majority Leader job, Daschle declared that every bill and every appointment would require 60 votes to pass. So the GOP simply doesn't pass Medicare reform this year. It doesn't pass the child tax credit for folks who don't pay taxes. The Dems couldn't have done this without GOP help and without Bush signing the bills.
If you guys who are constantly calling for conservative purity would take into account the current political reality in Washington, you would seem smarter.
First of all, I'm hardly a person constantly calling for conservative purity. But the latest antics of the GOP are to conservatism as spilled bleach is to colored fabrics. And YOU would seem more credible if you would quit apologizing for every GOP transgression with the cry "We just need more Republicans" - when it was the GOP that allowed this nonsense to pass.

He lowered nothing. He ended up allowing the Clinton standards to stand. It wasn't worth the media pounding.
