Seriously, for every one person who POSTS a question, there are probably MANY MORE who only LURK here, but have that same question...

David is one of those "creative" types that seem to like Apple, for some reason. :o)
In any event, it may help you to go to:

www.apple.com/quicktime/download

... and download the LATEST version of the Apple QuickTime software - for FREE.

Please let me know if this works.

I had the same problem initially. Try this: Open player, hit edit, choose Preferences, choose Quick Time Preferences, from drop down menu choose Sound Out and pick Windows Preferred Device, then from the same menu choose Update Check, make sure are online and hit update. For me, it downloaded the Indeo 5 plugin and then played both picture and sound.
