At the very least, unconcern for the nation and the "National" government. In the end, what did in the Roman Empire was a lack of concern with the Empire and a greater desire to work for the betterment of each individual. I assure you, I as patriotic as an Old Order Amishman!

You are most definitely in the minority. The majority only cares when there's something in it for them. We've bred an entire nation (and by now you know I mean the majority, not everyone) based on a collective entitlement mentality.
