Common Tator:
"the Constitution is not the Supreme Law of the land. The Supreme law of this land is what ever 5 of the nine Supreme court justices say it is."
What is wrong with this picture?

It has no basis in reality, just as most of Tators comments.
The USSC court are not our masters. They have no power to enforce their decisions. Congress has the power to make 'Exceptions' under Art III and the President the power to ignore them.
Checks & balances work, if there is a political will to apply them

If what you say were true this thread would be a love fest for the Supreme Court. I suggest that if what you said were true there would be no need for this thread. It would not be a subject of discussion.
Can you say thank goodness the surpreme court never overrules the clear meaning of the constitution? Can you say isn't it great that the supreme court never exceeds its constitutional power and if it did it would never get away with it? Isn't it great that the supreme court never takes over the power of the congress and makes up its own laws? Isn't it great the supreme court never says that words that are not in the constituion are in the constitution? Isn't it great that if the Supreme court ever tried to say the law is what ever they say it is,they would all be impeached and convicted?
You can't say any of those things and it be the truth.
You are arguing the the theories upon which this nation was founded are the practice under which we live. Theory and practice separated in 1802. Welcome to the real world!

"Checks & balances work, if there is a political will to apply them " That's a very big "IF".
