I agree with both of you.
This has smear written all over it.

That (not speaking ill of the dead) is a totally irrational precept. And when people set themselves up as authorities, or, like the Kennedys, as somehow deserving of hereditary power, their faults and crimes are fair game.

How could the Bessettes collect on Carolyn; she was married to JFK Jr. I could understand collecting on the other woman, her sister, but not on JFKs wife. Just curious as to how that would be legal.

Who cares if she snorted her nose off, there is no need to talk about it now that they are dead.

Their faults were fair game when they were alive, but there is just something tacky about dissing the dead. At least to me.

I agree with you that this is intended as a warning to the Bessettes. People who know them here in Greenwich generally think well of them, and more than a few felt she was marrying beneath herself with Kennedy.
Has anyone considered whether JFKjr drove her to drugs and violence? Most of the Kennedys have a history of treating their women much worse than their dogs, and of being debauched rake-hells.

I heard storys before the deaths that she was big trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if his wife and sister-in-law started riding his butt during the fatal flight, and he couldn't take it anymore. Perhaps he had a minor nervous breakdown, took his hands off the control yoke, and let the plane go down on its own.

Am surprised that the name of the furniture store owner in Soho or there abouts that she was supposedly having an affair with never came to light.

I'm not sure you'll find many who idolize them here. Of course you probably meant here (as in the United States). It's all a media love affair with John, Jackie and the kids. Of course that's if you ignore the idea that they try to pass off today's agenda on the backs of these icons they created. As much as I don't care for John Kennedy any longer, I think he'd roll over in his grave if he had any idea what his brother and his cronies back these days. Course John was about as crooked as he could be for his day.

Oh no!
I meant :"Why are the Kennedys worshipped in AMERICA! "
I should have been more clear.
At least John got Special forces going with teh Green Berets, and influenced the Space program for the moon landing.....
SIGH.

He also implemented a significant tax cut to spur the economy, which really muted the Democrats ability to successfully object when Republicans wanted to do the same thing. Course it didn't stop them from trying.

RE: Your post #5.
I think that is probably the most succinct and accurate summation of the Kennedy's I have ever seen. Excellent. I will quote you on that, you can be sure.
Made my day. Sadly, my mom thinks JFK walked on water just because he was the first Catholic president (she's real "old school" on that).

Carolyn's mother could sue JFK Jr's estate for her own loss of two daughters, claiming he had been reckless in flying that plane. It wouldn't matter that JFK Jr had been married to one of the girls.

I said the other day on the forum that John was incredibly charismatic. I can still see him walking with that smile of his. While I don't approve of John's character flaws, he was a man's man. He exuded verility and ease within himself. John was the man Bill Clinton saw within himself, but Bill Clinton was never John Kennedy. He was Eddie Haskel trying to act like John Kennedy. Clinton thought himself quite the man. No, he was quite the insecure little child, and it showed.
Your mom probably remembers the charming Kennedy who got us through the Cuban Missile Crisis. Let her have her memories. Just remind her of the few things Kennedy did and how they contrast with today's Democrat. Kennedy served honorably in our armed services. Bill Clinton fled the country and lied.
