Well I'd say 80% of the population who are upset about this illegal alien invasion is not some, but even so I can't think of anything more important than this issue. It's a direct attack on our independence and sovereignty.
And being from NY I am aware of the illegal Chinese and Muslims. There's hundreds of thousands of them in the NYC area alone. It's not just Mexico, that's correct.
Why do you think that's its never that big of an issue with the national Republican party? I'll tell you why. Two reasons:
1. There biggest contributors benefit enormously from it. Low cost labor = competitive American companies. If you want to get rid of illegal immigration YOU PUNISH THE COMPANIES THAT HIRE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Don't punish the immigrants. They are coming here because there are jobs here, and its NOT A sh-thole like Mexico. If you had ever been to Mexico you could easily see why you would stuff yourself in the trunk of a car in the hopes for a better life in America. As long as there is EMPLOYMENT here they will come.
2. If you attack the immigrants you alienate Mexican Americans and push them towards the Democrats. Mexicans unlike blacks (and i'm black) like to keep their political options open, are generally conservative on social issues, and are quite willing to vote for the right Republican (Bush BTW is that Republican). Prop 187 (and I voted for it) was an unmitigated disaster for the Republican party in California. Wilson never should have campaigned for it. It would have been passed anyhow. It HANDED the state to the Democrats on a silver platter.
