Just wanted to introduce myself. I saw you out there on Saturday when Nicole Parra was in our wonderful city of Delano.
I am Pastor of World Harvest Int'l Church. I was hoping to bring Nicole to accountability. I am very tired of corruption in all levels of government.
When you and your friend were out there with your signs, there was a fellow standing next to the fireworks booth. He was criticizing your group saying that you "did not have the love of God." I asked him, "So you determine if a person has no love by their disagreement towards an official?" I told him that there was no rational logic in that. He also stated that you did not have a right to be there. I then replied, "It is their Constitutional right and privilege to be doing what they are doing." He mumbled some other words under his breath and I just walked away.
When Nicole saw us walk up to her table, she was all smiles thinking that we were happy to see her. However, we were not at all pleased with her failure to vote against AB 205. She voted in favor of AB 458 is another bad bill. I told her that she is not representing her constituents by abstaining. I also said that she was not doing what she was elected to do. (I didn't vote for her by the way). I've educated our people on these and other bills.
She finally got upset and said, "If you all don't like it, then you need to run against me next year." (I almost wanted to tell her that she didn't win this race - but that's another issue as you well know).
I told her that the reason why she won by a very slim margin was because when people found out that she was pro-choice, many in her own party voted for Dean Gardner (since the Catholic & Protestant Churches have taken a strong stand against pro-choice). She then said, "Well, there are many reasons for that." A member of my church pointed to your sign and said, "That's another reason." LOL
We were able to convince many in the Democratic party to vote for Dean Gardner and expose her pro-choice stand. I personally went and knocked on doors of homes where I saw Nicole's yard sign. Many of us were able to convince Parra supporters to vote for Dean.
Well, I've said enough...By the way, no matter what, continue to stand up for truth no matter who is against you. Right is right even if the majority is against it; wrong is wrong even if the majority are for it. If we don't stand for something, we'll fall for anything.

Thanks for the info on Fotki, sweetliberty. I went and opened an account this morning. Since it is a "photo" hosting website, I was wondering if they allowed uploading of "gifs" along with jpgs. They do. :-)
FYI Saundra, Fotki is VERY user-friendly and you get a free two week trial before they ask you to pay (they don't even ask for a credit card up front like most places). Lager might want to try using that one. At least he could try it out before having to pay anything.
I like this..........If we don't stand for something, we'll fall for anything.
I wonder if the good Pastor would mind if I borrowed it for my tag line?
Oops, I see you already explained that fotki will accept gifs too. Duh!........It wasn't that I didn't believe you, LOL.....I just need to pay better attention.
Not according to what Jim has told me, but I guess we'll see if, or when, the time comes. It is hard to believe that FR's servers could possibly handle ALL FReepers graphics, photos, midis, etc.....but, that's the plan. From what I understand, John eventually wants everything posted on FR to be on FR's server, not linked to other sites, for security reasons. How this is going to work is beyond me.
LOL! It's a file extention. A ".gif" is a type of file, usually a graphic and/or animation, as opposed to a ".jpg", which is usually a photo - but sometimes a graphic.
I post a lot of graphics (on the "Finest" thread especially) so I need a server that will accept gifs as well as jpgs. :-)
You're welcome. This Pastor really gets to me. He was able to get through to Nicole Parra in a way I could never even dream of. He spoke to her with love and authority. I just get mad. LOL!
