I still can't decide if the recall is for the best or not (not that it's my call, since I don't live there), but it is perfectly legal and these businessman have no more say than anyone else whether it will ultimately happen or not.

They make it sound as if the petition-gatherers and signers are doing something wrong, and the Father of the Party needs to scold them and put a stop to their misbehaving. In actuality it is entirely a local California issue, and the process is established and protected by the State Constitution. The focus of the petition is not on the 800,000 misbehaving signers, but on the one incompetent governor.

Liberal big business leaders join hands with liberal labor union bosses to ask President Bush to intervene in what is essentially a state matter? I guess they're for federal intervention when they're going to lose. Funny and the thing is my recollection is they declared they didn't want federal intervention back in 2000 in what was clearly a federal matter. Liberals asking President Bush to save their bacon.
