Thank you for the reminder! I used to eat sardines regularly when I was a punk 'cause I loved 'em. I don't know why, but I stopped a long time ago. They would be a perfect food.

This is the brand I swear by. I have a tin of these just about every day. I always get the kind packed in olive oil as it is very good for you. Lately I've been partial to the "Mediterranean Style" which has olive oil, sliced olives, tomatoes, peppers and garlic in each can (along with the sardines, of course). Rich in omega-3 as well.

Most people I know wince when I tell them I eat sardines every day. For some reason, sardines have a reputation of being nasty, lousy-tasting food. But they are actually very tasty and nutritious (though I would avoid the cheaper, inferior brands at the supermarket). And they are an acquired taste so one should at least give them a fair chance.

Having these for lunch is very convenient. I can take them on the road with me and always be guaranteed I'll have something nutritious to eat. On a recent trip to Alabama, I had 10 cans of them stashed in my carry-on. Sure did get some strange looks from the security people!
