Communists know that controlling propaganda is essential to spreading their message. Controlling libraries used to work.
They tried to take over Hollywood in the late thirties, early fourties, through their unions. (That's how they always start their intimidation)
Ronald Reagan, an actor at the time, fought them, and won. He also slept with a .38 under his pillow. He received death threats, and threats to splash acid in his face.
RR testified during the McCarthy hearings, about the influence of communism in Hollywood. The blacklists were appropriate, and should be brought back.
