Landmark Studies Reveal Virtually All Of California's Population Explosion Due To Immigration
Californians for Population Stabilization ^ | June 2003 | Leon F. Bouvier, Dick Schneider, Diana Hull

-While Native-Born Californians Are Leaving The State- Virtually 100% of California's population explosion between 1990 and 2000 (and continuing through 2002) was the result of a massive inflow of immigrants and births to immigrants, not from internal growth, according to two separate studies commissioned by Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS), a non-profit group dedicated to stricter management of the state's population size.

Census Bureau figures reveal that the state's population grew from 29.8 million in 1990 to more than 34 million in 2000, an increase of more than 4 million people. According to authors of the studies, that growth is greater than the combined increase in population of all the northeastern states from Maine to Virginia during that same period. Demographers project that if the same rate of growth continues, California's population will double in just 40 years.

During the measured twelve-year span, immigrants and births to immigrants accounted for the net increase of 4.1 million people after allowing for deaths and those leaving the state. Native-born residents (those residing in the state prior to 1990) decreased by about 100,000 and this was not compensated for by other Americans moving to California.

CAPS commissioned two separate studies of population growth factors in California in order to ensure the accuracy of the findings. The two studies used slightly different sets of data, with both arriving at conclusions that differed by only 2%. Leon Bouvier, Ph.D., demographer and author of Fifty Million Californians performed one study. Bouvier based his study on data supplied by the California Department of Finance. Environmental analyst Dick Schneider did the second study. He combined state statistics with information from the Census Bureau, the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and existing research on domestic migration.

"A number of things are very clear from these vitally important studies," said Diana Hull, Ph.D., President of CAPS. "The first and most important is what we all know in California-we are in the midst of a population crisis that is already affecting virtually every aspect of life in our state and which is only going to get worse."

"The second finding that nobody in California wants to talk about, due to political correctness, is the underlying cause of our problem which is totally uncontrolled immigration and the high fertility rates associated with major immigrant groups. Stop immigration and we'll be on the way to saving our quality of life—do nothing and we will soon reach the limits of livability."

"And third, there is a message of hope in the findings. The first step in fixing any problem is determining the cause, which we have now established conclusively. Now it's up to Californians to have the courage to address this growth crisis head-on," Hull concluded.

One of CAPS' primary tenets is that the vast majority of California's myriad problems can be attributed to over-immigration. Traffic congestion, schools, the water crisis and the state's record $37 billion budget shortfall have all emerged according to the group because there are too many people for the state's now beleaguered resources. According to CAPS, the crisis in which California finds itself today is just the beginning of a population nightmare that will continue to worsen unless immigration is slowed considerably or brought to a halt.

Do they work hand in hand with Planned Parenthood or the INS?

No surprise to me. When I go to Walmart, I am the only one ho speaks English, except of course for the children running loose in the store.

I'm a native Californian(Blush!)-however, it was beautiful long, long ago. I'm leaving as soon as I retire. My last child just turned eighteen and will leave the nest for college. It is time to go! The elevator door opens and as you look inside one's first thought is 'My G*d where did you come from!' I know I'm not alone with this reaction. It is a sewer and now it is going to become worse.

Great idea, I want out too. The libs have aborted their future and now they need the illegal labor flow. Abortion has killed their culture and now they want to stem the flow? It is too little too late, California is Mexican toast. Germany will be Muslim toast soon, they zero popped their future too. They are scheduled to drop from 83 million to 70 million in ten years. They will be importing .5 mill per year to save their economy. It is getting ugly for Western Civilization.

I thought California was filled only with the "beautiful people"... or at least that is what Hollywood tries to portray.

You Said: "...It is getting ugly for Western Civilization."

Response: I could not agree more. I fear it is beyond ordinary electoral processes. I hope I'm wrong. However, I do not think so!

I'm glad to see a distinct lack of "they do the jobs americans don't want to do" cheerleading on these immigration threads as of the last year or so.

I know this is only a dream, but in my dream, this whole problem could be solved by every Republican getting up off their a$$ in Nov. of 2004 and voting all these socialists out of office! Look at the ridiculous low numbers for voter turn-out. We should all be ashamed!

I was born in California and lived there for 45 years. I bailed out when the state was so anti-business that companies were leaving faster than an illegal alien crossing the border. The educational system had crumbled, and the liberals control everything. The next major earthquake may balance it all out by ridding the world of the most immoral, corrupt people since Sodom and Gomorrah.

My family has been here since the turn of the last century and Captain PBear's family since 1870. There's even a mountain named for an uncle, etc.

I want out though, the Rats have turned my lovely home into a sewer.

When I was born there were less than 10,000,000 in the entire state. This number remained the same until about 1945. Even when I reached 16 there were roads where one would not see a car for two to three days. It was paradise!

I am reminded that the entire population of Canada could fit inside of California. When the Canadians complain about the crazy Americans, our guns, our violence, or unwed mothers, our homeless, etc... all of the really negative stuff that they think is dangerous, they forget how small they are in comparison, as well as the fact that they only hear the negative.

Now, having said that... California is part of the reason why we have all of these problems! LOL

-----------------

It won't take 40 years given the increase in the rate of invasion across our borders.

Mine went directly to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1900, Captain PBear's went to Pasadena in 1870. They lived in some of those large houses in the charming old section of the city.

Where did yours go?
