"George F. Will: Lap dancing may become next right"
Please God, let it be Will's right
to receive one, not to perform one.

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything..." Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa Hmmm... |

EAGER TO IMPROVE their towns moral tone, Los Angeles?!?!!? Ok, now here you have an example of closing the barn door after the horse have been let out, fled the farm, died of old age, and long since been turned into glue.

I know a guy who wanted to be head coach at Univ of Alabama (Mike Price) who would join this push. A lap dance and some room service cost him a $7 mil contract.

Advocates of the ordinance say such goings-on lead to prostitution. And prostitution leads to dancing...

I thought it was a right already.

Why don't Baptists have sex standing up?
People might think they're dancing.

Many of the libertarians on this thread have forgotten something they should have learned in civics class. Yes we have rights to privacy. But just like all our rights, this right has limits. We have freedom of speech but there are limits to it. We have freedom of religion within reasonable limits. You have a right to privacy but that right has limits. There is no such thing as total and complete freedom. Because your actions affect others (more than just the dancer and the person paying for it) you have limited rights.
Now all you whining little adolescents need to grow up and quit crying about your rights. We live in the most free nation in the world. Rights and responsiblities must be balanced. I challenge anyone on this thread to give us one time in their life that their right to privacy was ignored by the government. Some idiot will bitch about the some minor little instance but we will be hard pressed to find one major instance of anyone's right to privacy being abused. And even if we do find a case where it happened, that person's life did not come to end. The sun rose the next day and life goes on.

I wonder which state is going to be the first to challenge this.
