The prizewinning columnists were recognized at a dinner in Tucson, Ariz., honoring the memory of Michael Kelly, Washington Post syndicated columnist who was the first American journalist killed in the Iraq war. The organization named Kelly as 2003 Columnist of the Year.Michael Kelly was one of my favorite columnists. From what I have read of Kelly, it is my personal opinion that he would have been appalled that Morford was honored on the same night he was.
From what I have read of Morford, he probably was appalled that Kelly was honored the same night he was.
