What university are you sending your money to?
BTW, where does somebody who studies this stuff get a job other than as a Jesse Jackson hack?

I am part black and part white and part Native American Indian. I am also German, French, Irish, British, Scottish, Dutch. Who gets to discriminate against me?
I suppose everyone.
I am all for all applications to schools and for jobs just leaving the RACE section off. Or just put HUMAN in the blank after Race__________.

I am paying $750 per graduate course at a Virginia public university to be spoonfed this crap. We are supposed to be learning how to teach English to immigrants. My current instructor is from Peru. He is uninterested in the opinion of the white or black students and seeks out only that of the hispanics...uses the word gringo freely...ignores the entire concept of English immersion and pushes bilingual education...calls the president Papa Bush...I could go on and on...he is a blatant bigot, untouchable because he is a poor, pitiful minority oppressed by whitey.

After the SCOTUS decision, I changed my race to hispanic. From now on, that's what I am on all application. Let them prove that I'm not. Maybe I can hang them with their own rope.

Oreos, coconuts, apples, and bananas
coconuts, yep
bananas, yep

As I read this article, I didn't know who was more nuts or bananas: Those trying to teach such crap or those seeking to studying it.
It seems to me that it is just a way to keep "raciality" in everyone's mind and to "stir the pot" to keep racial tensions active. But who would benefit from such? [Shakedown comes to mind. Also, groundwork for the future reparations push.]

And you don't rebel why?
I did. I got one fired.

Everyone should do this.
If you have 100 people apply for the job, and out of 100, they all say they are Hispanic, guess who will get the job? The one qualified.

How do you know that I haven't?

I know someone whose son received a scholarship based solely on hispanic ancestry. He is in no way hispanic. The family attended the gala affair, palmed the check, and laughed all the way home. True story.

These folks are well on their way to making Whitey hate them back.
Whiteness Studies doesnt even pretend to be a cultural inquiryhow could it? White culture can scarcely be said to exist as a single entity. Even the white population of the United States alone, which includes Protestants in Appalachia and Jews in New York City, doesnt easily lend itself to stereotype. White rural southerners, to cite but one example, have far more in common, culturally, with similarly situated blacks than say, most any white person in San Francisco.
Actually, for an interesting look at White culture, both the smiliarities and differences among the various types of Protestants, one should read Florence King. Her CONFESSIONS OF A FAILED SOUTHERN LADY, SOUTHERN LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, and especially WASP, WHERE IS THY STING are funny and informative. I never realized how much of what I thought were simply familial oddities were really standard stiff-upper-lip, lower-class British sensibilities combined with Baptist fundamentalism until I read Florence King. Now that's real "whiteness studies"... treating Whites as people with cultures, not just as representatives of European colonialims or American capitalism.

First before you go off on your one man crusade you should try and convince a few others of the uselessness of "Mainstream Conservatism", and then point out the need for alternatives. When Goldwater got blasted out of the water in 64 the anti-communists went back to work not into the backcountry. I think the first thing to do is convince as many people as possible to stop supporting our gated community "conservatives", let them starve if FOX news won't pay them then.

The stated goal of Whiteness Studies enthusiasts is to make race-consciousness a permanent part of American life for white people. Historically, the Washington Post quotes Howard Winant, a sociology professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara, as saying, it has been common to see whites as a people who dont have a race, to see racial identity as something others have. Its a great advance to start looking at whiteness as a group. Thisis a very bad move. If whites truly do become "race-conscious", particularly when the model for race-consciousness is the demonizing victimology of Jesse Jackson and his ilk, the balkanization of this country is inevitable, and the elevation of this fight from semantic to physical is on its way. If whites start to take on the nationalistic character of the other professional victim classes, placing race ahead of individual considerations, the result will be overwhelmingly bad for the minorites in this country.

From there it was books by Asians and Native Americans onyou guessed ithatred for white people Having took one asian studies course in the 70's, I did not find a "hating whitey theme". Most of the writing was introspective and conflicted like the Chinese father who did not want her daughter to marry a white but was glad she was becoming an American. I also remember a poem about an Asian american husband who felt he was being manipulated into thinking his asian wife was not attractive and lamenting that the manipulation was succeeding. The first lines were "I hate my wife, with her fat yellow face, and her short short legs." I can not recall the rest.
