Can we, as a society, sue Mr. and Mrs. Hartz for the wrongful birth of future lawyer Rachelle Harz?

The concept of "wrongful birth" is nihilistic, and is it also philosophically incoherent:
1 - To be WRONGED is to be HARMED.
2 - The concept of HARM depends upon the antecedent concept of LIFE, because it is only a living being that can be harmed; HARM is an injury to LIFE.
3 - But here, the plaintiff wold have to claim that his very LIFE is a HARM, a contradiction, and also an evil idea.

Wonder how long it will be before parents are compelled by the state to abort possible imperfect pre-born babies to reduce medical expenses? Or, forced to have their child euthanized later if found defective? Tobacco yesterday, fast food today, undesirables tomorrow?

Left wingers like Peter Singer (who also came up with the absurd concept of 'animal-rights') have been advocating this for years.

Absolutely, that's what socialism is all about. When the government pays the bills, they call the shots. Forced abortion is well entrenched in China, for example.

Bradley, of course, did not ask how much of the $1.6MM actually got to the "aggrieved" family - the lawyer admitted that they got about $1.2 - but actually, they must pay tax on the whole $1.6MM(figure another $500k) and so they "netted" around $700k - that is why the Feds are not as interested in tort reform as they might want people to think - the lawyer makes around 25 to 40 percent depending if there is a trial - the Feds make a cut of around 40% of the gross off the plaintiff and another 30+% off the lawyer's cut - so the big winner is the Feds, then the lawyers, then the so-called victim - lastly, the consumer must pay more for his medical treatments to off-set the premiums the doctors must pay - interesting system.

I watch this story on Sixty Minutes Sunday evening. It brings tears to my eyes to see how far down the funneled slippery slope my nation has slid in my lifetime. Cannibalism is now raising its demonic head, of course in the name of enlightened medical advancement. Lousiana and New Jersey, so far, have embraced it, allowing designer embryos for dissection and harvesting of stem cells. That we can do somethin in science doesn't mean we should do it. Well, it used to be that way. Now, the amorality of science has taken over our society as the handmaid of secular humanism. I won't live long enough to see the evil fruits of these newest dehumanizations, but I fear my granddaughter will be immersed in the sludge.

Maybe the handicapped child should sue the parents for "wrongful conception", on the grounds that parents who cannot accept their child as he or she is, should not conceive any children.

Not long. I read a news article today where Belgium is planning to extend their euthanasia campaign to those under the age of 17.
