According to an unconfirmed report, US forces have arrested Muhammad Said al-Sahaf, the former Iraqi information minister. Nicknamed Comical Ali because of his increasingly surreal briefings towards the end of the war, Mr al-Sahaf was reported to have been detained in a Baghdad suburb on Monday. The Pentagon said it had no knowledge of the arrest.

There were reports weeks ago that he had tried to surrender and that he was told we didn't want him.Correct, apparently, he wanted to surrender, for both his and his family's safety. He was trying to work through an intermedary to negotiate terms of surrender, i.e. who would come and get him, what would happen to his family, guarantee his safety, etc.
He was told through his intermedary, to find the nearest military soldier and surredner directly to them, they have no interest in going out and getting him or dealing with any of his concerns.
Apparently alot of the people on the Iraqi side are mad at him too, and may want to kill him, seems he wasn't such a good guy even before his "information minister" gig.

Why is it that not one of these clowns has actually left Iraq?
No wonder we are getting all the hit and run stuff now - minus what we have snagged, the deck of jokers is still in country!

... he signs a contract with the DNC? He'll be on a commitiee with James Carvile, and Terry McAliffe. Critics will call him the credable one.

Thanks for the ping!
Bless his heart...he's finally getting his wish! He tried to turn himself in before, but we didn't want him. That had to hurt...
