For a really close comforatble shave I use my grandfathers old fashioned Gillette- It uses those double edge blades- they are so much sharper than cartridge blades, the handle has weight and with a weeks practice I've stopped getting cuts on my chin.

The Gillette Mach 3 is really worth a try. The handle on it has some heft to it, too. I gave one to my 67 year old dad, and he's never looked back since.
