Philosophy and traditions which standing alone would not survive if not for the millions of diverse Americans whose limbs and lives maintained these ideals alive.

Your point? If it is that many from diverse origins have come to the United States and adopted those ideals and ideas, then I agree. My point is that the arivees of diverse origins should not try to remake this country in the images of the places they left because this country was more attractive.
