"This is a cloud hanging over their credibility, their word,"

I love Nebraska but Chuck is an idiot. When it was popular, he was being photgraphed all over the place with Dubya and supporting the war effort. He and McCain are sisters, aren't they?

Ah....I remember the days when freepers thought that it was "idiots" who refused to investigate potential scandals and abuse of power. Now, the "idiots" are those who dare to ask questions!

Heheh. Precisely. He always seems to have the instincts of a contender in the McCain mold -- like he's working on building cred with everybody but Republicans. It's annoying.

His criticisms don't seem aimed to build, they just corrode.

U.S. Senators Chuck Hagel (R-NE), far left, Joseph Biden (D-DE) and Richard Lugar, second right, (R-IN) are saluted as they tour the grounds of the Iraqi police college in the capital of Baghdad, June 23, 2003. Hagel, Lugar and Biden said that U.S. troops may need to be in Iraq for five years. (Chris Helgren/Reuters)
