Thanks for thinking of us....it's been harder than I expected...the worry and loneliness takes its toll...Im trying to stay busy(yardwork, etc) but I can't stay away from the news....time is going faster for Mike...he is tired and hot, but really not complaining...he looks at the big picture and wants to do his part...he's anxious to get home to see our 20mo old grandson, who is growing up so fast, and won't know pa pa when he comes home....sorry to go on and on...just one of those lonely nights.

You're not going on. It's important for all of us to realize the sacrifice our service men AND their families put up for all of our sakes.

THANK YOU!

m-a, I am sorry to hear about the morale of the troops. Makes me furious at the press. Do you mind that I share your comments in e-mails to the Senate-press, Freep threads? Many of us are getting the word out.

It helps to keep things in a historical perspective re. the press. They were wankers during Vietnam as well. Gen. Myers was especially thrilled w/ the embeds...remembering what the press did when he served in Vietnam...and knowing that at least some reporters now have a new understanding of (and respect for) the troops.

Other "old" war horses with experience from a 'not fair and balanced' press include Gen. Franks: "I will also tell you that there was never a doubt in mind that at the end of the day it would be exactly as our people said it would be: The regime would be gone, the Iraqi people would be free. "A low point in terms of doubting, no sir, I never had it." He added that on a particularly bad day he told his staff and the commanders: "Don't ever, ever second-guess what you are doing. You are doing a wonderful job. Get your heads up and it will turn out just fine." Gen. Franks tells how Iraq war plan came together

Your hubby's doing heroic work. Tell him we'll take care of the homefront. The American people support the troops.
